Abstract

Chanting Down the New Jerusalem follows recent scholarship that frames religion pragmatically rather than phenomenologically. Fostered in part by the work of David Chidester, this approach nicely counterbalances previous studies of Caribbean religious populations (such as Timothy Rommen’s 2007 book, Mek Some Noise!’).
