Resumo

Para cualquier interesado en la historia de México y América Latina, un libro cuyo título augura un viaje por la historia moderna de Oaxaca resulta muy seductor. Lleva implícita la promesa de hacernos comprender el mundo en que se criaron dos actores centrales del siglo XIX mexicano: Benito Juárez y Porfirio Díaz. Lo sorprendente es que el trabajo de Chassen-López ofrece eso, y mucho más.
